It's the end of another year -- and pretty much everyone is ready to leave 2020 behind! Let's hope 2021 is a better year for everyone -- more love, better health, and blessings all around. In a year with overwhelming loss and sadness, here are some things that I enjoyed and that kept me entertained.
BOOKS The Daughters of Erietown - Connie Schultz I Have Something to Tell You - Chasten Buttigieg Unholy: Why Evangelicals Worship at the Altar of Donald Trump - Sarah Posner Untamed - Glennon Doyle * My favorite book of 2020! Yes No Maybe So - Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed GAMES I continued playing iPhone games like Words With Friends throughout 2020, and got back into Sims 4 and Sim City. But, my favorite game of the year was Animal Crossing, which is basically the entire reason I bought a Nintendo Switch. It's been such a fun game to play and it definitely helped me relax some in 2020. MOVIES I'll do an Oscar preview/recap in April before the award show. But, some of my favorite movies this year were from Hulu (Happiest Season and Palm Springs). I also really enjoyed Tenant -- Christopher Nolan continues to make great work. MUSIC Taylor Swift pretty much saved 2020 by releasing not one but TWO incredible albums this year. Both folklore and evermore are brilliant albums that I can't take off of repeat. I also really loved The Chicks' latest album, Gaslighter, and Kelsea Ballerini's kelsea. Here are 20 of my favorite songs from this year. “Adore You” - Harry Styles “Betty” - Taylor Swift “Body” - Megan Thee Stallion “The Bones” - Maren Morris “Cardigan” - Taylor Swift “Exile” - Taylor Swift featuring Bon Iver “Forever And Ever, Amen” - Ronan Keating with Shania Twain “Gaslighter” - The Chicks * My favorite song of 2020! “Hole In The Bottle” - Kelsea Ballerini & Shania Twain “I Hope” - Gabby Barrett “If The World Was Ending” - JP Saxe featuring Julia Michaels “Legends Never Die” - Orville Peck & Shania Twain “Lose You To Love Me” - Selena Gomez “The Man” - Taylor Swift “Only The Young” - Taylor Swift “Sleep At Night” - The Chicks “Stupid Love” - Lady Gaga “Watermelon Sugar” - Harry Styles “Willow” - Taylor Swift “Without Me” - Halsey TELEVISION I loved both of Martha Stewart's shows this year, and the final seasons and episodes of The Good Place and Schitt's Creek were beautifully written and amazing all around. Hulu's documentary series on Hillary Clinton titled Hillary was also fantastic. Here are 20 shows that got me through the year. Also, major shoutout to some of my all-time favorite shows that that I binged once again this year, including 30 Rock, Difficult People, Seinfeld, Sex & the City, Veep, The West Wing, and Will & Grace.
